When posting your printing problem, please provide the following information

  • The kind of printer you are using, and how long you have been using it.
  • The kind of controller and display you are using.
  • The firmware are you using.
  • The nature of the problem, and what you've already tried to correct it.

  • Printing temperatures
  • Print speeds
  • A link to the Gcode file. This contains important information, including the settings used - at the top and bottom (especially with Slic3r).

If the file is larger than 614 KB you need to a link to it (you can use free Dropbox [2], etc), or cut and paste those comments in your post (not ideal: harder to read).

How to get a good clear photo

  • Don't try to take a picture with your camera/phone held too close to the object.
  • Take your time and move back slowly until it will focus clearly.
  • Take a pictures of at least the front and side of the object.
  • Crop your pictures. This can be done in your phone, or on your PC using Paint or Gimp[3].

Attaching your files and photos

You can use the "Attach File" link, however if the file is larger than 614 KB you need to embed a link to it.

Embedding a link to a large file

You can use other file hosting services, this example uses Dropbox

  1. On the Dropbox web page, click the share button next to the image, and copy the link.
  2. Above your post: click the Insert Url button.
  3. Paste the Dropbox link.

Embedding an image from Dropbox

To embed an Image from Dropbox you need to provide a more direct link:

  1. On the Dropbox web page, click the share button next to the image, and copy the link.
  2. Above your post: click the Insert Image Url button.
  3. Paste the Dropbox link.
  4. Change www.dropbox.com to dl.dropboxusercontent.com
