Looking for a reccomendation for a good hot end ? If you are getting jams so bad that the filament is chewed up, you are probably just printing at a very low temperature.

Make sure that you have the correct thermistor setting in your firmware. If still jamming, raise the printing temperature.

Prusa's V1 is inconsistent and has significant design issues. I don't mind paying more for quality yet at the same time I'm not overpaying for something so simple.
