        <title>Extruder heatsinks?</title>
        <description> Hey,

since I got a new stronger extruder motor the whole extruder construction is getting hotter. Yesterday I wanted to upgrade my filament guide to a spring loaded system but everything is to hot that it looses structural integrity.

On my old motor I had a custom round heatsink and a small 5V fan, all I find now are heatsinks for the front of the motor (which is blocked by the filament guide) or this [www.ebay.com] which runs unfortunately on 12V (my 12V pins are reserved for the model cooling fan).

Questions:
1.) Could I hook a 2nd 12V fan onto the same pins as the model cooling fan, but without the signal wire so it would run continuously? or would it be better to hook it directly into the main power ternimal of the board?
2.) Are there heatsinks which can be mounted to the side of the motor maybe 2-3 passive ones are enough.

            <description><![CDATA[ Make up a 12V bus right off your main 12V power supply.<br />
Hook up the motor fan to be always ON when the printer is ON.<br />
Extruder motor can't get too cold.<br />
<br />
Your RAMPS or other circuit board cooler could also be on this 12V bus.<br />
Your controller board can never be too cool.<br />
<br />
Your controllable fan for part cooling is seprate for command control cooling.<br />
