Limonene HIPS smoothing

Hi,

I recently read the thread about THF not working to smooth PLA surfaces, so I started looking in to HIPS and Limonene again. From the few videos its established that it can be completely dissolved as a support material but is there some mentioning out there of Limonene used to smooth out HIPS surfaces?

From what I can tell about the process its not hydrolysis so the material doesnt get brittle and starts to crumble but rather melts away like acetone on ABS. Anyone ever try smoothing with Limonene and HIPS?

Cheers

Have only tested some short bits and it works, however the polysmooth stuff works way better and doesnt require expensice lemonene, so if you do any serious work id say it cheaper to throw together a little vaporization box and use polysmooth.

I am currently trying this on a print... i brushed on directly
1 hour in and it HASsmoothed very nicely but still feels tacky.. i'm wondering if there is a way to harden it up/speed the process? UV/Hot/Cold/Airflow?
