Incremental copies and tolerences? Ok after having a quick look around I cant find anthything about incremental errors that would build up from people copying copied parts, such as with cast parts. Has this issue been addressed? if not how do I go about starting a guide for builders in the wiki? Mendel is actually a massive nuisance exciting challenge, casting-moldmaking wise. Which is why Foton is doing up a machine optimized for casting-moldmaking. Along with being a developer, he's also an entrepreneur, so I suspect he's not actually going to ... encourage his down-stream purchasers to make molds from his parts. But it's all part of the fun, he got his start by making a set of molds from a set of parts nophead sold him.

For generic mendel-printed mendel, we seem to do quite well using the odd ruler, digital caliper, and acrylic drafting triangle. As we bring more and more steel, aluminum, and epoxy-granite machines under the reprap umbrella, I imagine builders and designers will adopt more professional-machinist-type metrology equipment.
