Hi Guys

Very new to this and will sound novice.

I have an old Roland PNC 3000 Milling machine. It is mechanical/Stepper motor sound, but the mother board is gone. Had used it while back, good and accurate machine, but as I said old and outdated.

I have purchased a kit or sort of a kit that has "3D Printer 1x Mega 2560 R3 + 1x RAMPS 1.4 control panel+5pcs DRV8825 for Arduino".

I have looked at the stepper motors and the detail on the back is (2-Phase, 0.9 Deg/Step, 6 Wires, Vexta Oriental Motor, DC 5.4V, 1.5A), does not make a hell of a sense to me, but I am sure to most of you guys it would.

I like to see first if it is possible to combine the both "Machine and the Electronics", I am not very sure as yet what I like to use it as, but maybe a 3D Printer or light Milling Machine,...

I am wondering if someone could help and guide me to a right direction. I have searched the net have some info, but I am not sure where to start or if it is possible or right to do this, using Arduino for example.

I appreciate any help in advance.

Thanks

Hi,

I got my printer over a month ago to see wether or not I would like 3d printing, and I am loving it. Though I have a problem when I try to print a model I have sliced myself, it just sits there and does nothing. Now if I copy and paste the top 10 lines of code from 1 of the demo gcode models that come with it, it works. No matter what version of slicer I use there is 1 line that I cant get to change and I am guessing that is what is stopping me.

The line goes like this: G1 E-0.60000 F1800.00000
But I need (well I think) it to be F2400.00

Can anyone help me on getting this right, or tell me that is not where my problem is? It would great just to slice and print rather than copy & paste.

Hey all,

Just hoping someone would generously donate their time and some filament to get me started with the printed parts for my prusa i3 build. I'm looking at the einstein variant parts from https://github.com/EiNSTeiN-/Prusa3/tree/master/single_plate/src/frame/6mm.
The idea is based upon /r/reprapPIF so once I'm up and running I can offer my time and filament for the next guy

Hi,
So I'm looking at sourcing all the printed parts for a Prusa i3 Box frame version. This being my first build I'm not sure about the best way to go about this. So far I've found one or two ebay listings for the aluminium frame versions and they haven't replied to my questions about the box frame. Now I'm here in hope of finding some better answers to my questions.
So, I'd appreciate some assistance or anyone willing to have money thrown at them to print these parts for me.
Thanks.

Hey Fellow Reprappers,

I have kind of been around for a little while now and think it is well time that i properly introduced my self.

My name is Jack
I'm 20 years old and in my third year of a Bachelor or Engineering (Mechanical) at the University of Adelaide. I first found out about the Reprap project whilst surfing the net in a very boring lecture in 2012 semester 1.

I spent the subsequent 6 months doing more research in my spare time into the Reprap project and 3D printers and then decided to make one.

I completed my first 3D printer aka Mozbot 1 in March 2013

Im now printing and selling sets of prusa i2 printed parts at MorelliTech and running a rapid prototyping service at Uni

Here is my current setup as of 19/09/13
I recently purchased some of lybinas 3mm PLA, 300m each of Black, Red and White.

I have so far only had a chance to print with the black and it has been delightful, it is very uniform and is giving me the best prints i have ever had.

Its a little bit on the small size (2.75mm) but no problems at all.

I'm printing at 195C on 50C heated glass bed coated with pva glue.

Keep up the good work lybina, its great having an australian manufacturer with a great product and affordable prices.

Hi all, this is my first step out in the 3D world. Wohoo!! (Why is everything so big?)

OK, I'll need to start with getting the printed parts for the Prusa i3. -Anyone willing to print them for me? PLA is fine as I may experiment with more durable materials once the printer is up and going.

Secondly I'd need the Prusa i3 box frame.
Off course, I could order it all from overseas, but why not challenge the emerging Australia market first!

I will pay for materials, labor and other production costs, and shipping unless I may pick up from the Melbourne area.

Cheers!

My new to this so I hope that this is in the right place. I've built a Mendelmax and have been delighted with its performance however the thermistor in the hot end failed and I am having a lot of trouble trying to locate a supplier in Australia. I can find plenty of 100 K thermistors but unfortunately none the right size. According to the rep rap write up it is Thermistor 5
Part Number: 104GT-2
Manufacturer: Semitec
Description: NTC 100k ohm 3%
Tolerance: 3%
Data Sheet: High Heat-Resistance and High Sensitive Thermistor
Diameter of Glass Bead: 1.35mm +-0.15mm
Length of Glass Bead: 3mm +-1mm
Lead Length: 45mm +-1mm
Lead Diameter: 0.15mm to 0.18mm
If anybody can point me in the right direction I'd be very grateful.
There is no rush on this as I have one coming from overseas but I would like to be able to source locally.

I have my 3d printer up and running, and have been printing successfully on normal masking tape for a while.

I have recently bought some repraper pla and have had problems with it sticking.

I have tried normal masking tape, scotch blue 2093 and bear blue masking tape.

It doesn't appear to be possible to buy scotch 2090 tape in Adelaide, except in really small widths at bunnings, does anyone know any where that sells it, or do you have any other tips?
