You know that did not update the EEProm... I will try to put a bootloader on it and see if that works. Note.. I tried that a while back and got the an error I then reduced the speed but did not try it.. Will let you know what happens. Thanks Also just to update you.. I am using the latest Arduino IDE to create a bootloader on the Melzi board. I have installed the USBasp drivers for the device I purchased. If I select that it does not work and get an error. What device should I select> Thanks gain..

I have two boards for my Tronxy 3S. I will install this one and test it.. NOTE: I have not put the bed leveling thing on yet. let you know what happens.

there are two ways to upload

directly to the chip, you use the isp programmer.
This is normally used to install a bootloader only. (It can be used to upload the full firmware, but then you need to use a ISP every time you want to update the firmware)

secondly via the bootloader over usb/serial without a bootloader this give you errors like what your getting.

Install the bootload from [reprap.org]

Connect the AVR programmer to your PC, via USB. Connect the programmer to the Melzi, via the SPI pins. Connect USB to the Melzi - it needs power from the USB.
Open Arduino IDE. Under 'Tools | Board' menu, select 'Sanguino W/ATmega1284p 16 mhz'. From the 'Tools | Serial Port' menu, select the port your AVR Programmer is on. From 'Tools | Programmer' select your AVR Programmer type.
From 'Tools' menu, select 'Burn Bootloader'. You may receive an error; search the internet with the error message to troubleshoot what part isn't working properly. It mostly depends on the AVR Programmer you are using. Of course, there may also be a problem with your board

OK I did that and did NOT choose the Upload using Programmer..... I just choose upload.. then I got this message.. Getting close..

Yes you need usb to the controller for power.

Also on the controller in the middle is a jumper, J15, this needs to be on pins 1 and 2 to use 5v from usb

I have that.. just is the picture did not turn out so good do I left it off.. But I do that that.. Do I need the USB cable plugged in also at the same time? Just plug in the special board with that connector and it should work Correct??

and how are you plugging it in?

my guess is you saw the 10 pin plug and you plugged it in there. But this is just an IO expansion port

The ISP needs to go to the 6 pin connector on the board.

You need to make up a converter

I have a Melzi board and a ICP Programmer to go with it. I have downloaded your firmware. I have Arduino 1.06 installed and the Sanguino boards installed. Yet it will not install any idea what i am doing wrong. Thanks Richard

Hello, I can't to upload firmware onto Melzi Tronxy board. When I try to upload with closed 2-pin (autoreset switch) - Arduino IDE can't do it.
When upload without jumper then I see old firmware.
Can somebody help me?

you need to invert your endstop

Load marlin into arduino ide, click on configuration.h tab

Fine the section that looks like

const bool X_MIN_ENDSTOP_INVERTING = false; // set to true to invert the logic of the endstop.

If yours says true make it false or if yours says false change it to true

Compile and upload the new firmware

after I load merlin I go to tool board to find the configuration.h as attach.
Is that the correct configuration.h ?
I try to open other configuration.h file it show as attach.

I tested the stepper motors all can turn clockwise and anticlockwise.
only when fixed in the board melzi v2 and run repetier host in pronteface manually press +1 it go right -1 not moving. when hold down(not release) the microswitch press -1 it go left. please help thank

First, use a continuity tester to find the (2) pairs of the motors. Connect them to the board, one pair on first two connectors and the other on the two lower connectors. Check which direction the motor moves. If backwards switch them or go into Repetier "Printer Settings", "Printer" and click "Invert Direction In Controls"

hello euxvis,
I have installed arduino and merlin and found the configuration.h. what can I do next?
Is that the correct step!
1) run merlin
2) select tool--> board-->arduino mega atmega 1284(my board reprap melzi v2 1284p from china)
3)connect use cable to the 3dprinter board
4) load the configuration.h---> change the baurate to 115000
5) press upload
please confirm thank
note: these few days I found out my printer problem as follow:
I start repetier -host and connected.
when I manually press the x-axis arrow to +1 it go right when press -1 no action,but when hold and press down the microswitch and press -1 it go left. The y and z axis the same.
I can't change the switch setting.
How do I add setting to configuration.h? thank

how to change the melzi v2 atmega1284p setting (upload frimware)?
I have installed arduno 1.0.5-r2 but I don't know where to start first.
How do I write configuration.h ? where to find the setting.

My 3d printer use repetier host v1.61. I click the arrow it go right but never go left and go front but not back. I change the motor wiring green,black,red,blue to blue,red,green,black also the same movement right not left ,front not back.
