        <title>better extruder?</title>
<description> I have a repRap Prusa using a wades extruder with 3mm ABS and a .5 nozzle. The print quality is at best acceptable. I yearn for more. one problem is that the extrusion will have gaps for inexplicable reasons. There does not appear to be any slippage on the stepper motor and I can&#039;t &quot;feel&quot; any gaps in the movement of the filiment, but I suspect slippage at the hob bolt. I went to a stronger tooth on the hob but it didn&#039;t make any discernible difference.
My question is, might I gain from going to another type of extruder all together. I was looking at the Micro extruder from Ultibots.com? My neighbor just built a Mendal Max using this extruder and his very first print seemed to be more consistent that mine usually are. Has anyone else used this type of extuder on a Prusa without any major modifications?

Any other suggestions would be quite welcome.
