I have chcked the instructables and only found int the comments that the stepper motors come integrated with a planetary gearbox. 10:1 doesn't seem like enough to get a good resolution without x32 microstepping. And that would reduce torque too much. Not much "source" on this so called open source robot...]]></description>

I wonder what gear reducer does Dobot use... It might be some sort of planetary compact gearbox but that would have too much backlash for the claimed accuracy... maybe some sort of cycloidal gearbox?]]></description>
