RAMPS 1.4 Extruder Issues

Hello,
My printer runs a RAMPS 1.4 control board with Marlin firmware. All three (X, Y, Z) stepper motors are working fine, but the printer will not extrude without plastic (just testing the motor). For this test, I disabled "Prevent dangerous extrude" so that I can test at any temperature. The extruder motor is set to a max acceleration of 1000 mm/s, max speed of 100 mm/s, and 670 steps/mm. I tested the extruder motor by plugging it into another axis, so I know the motor is working. Then I swapped motor drivers (A4988), and know that all my drivers are functional. I also tested the extruder motor with my LCD control screen, in case RepatierHost was preventing cold extrusion. Sometimes, the X axis will move (all wires connected where they should be) when I hit the extrude button in RepatierHost. So at this point, I am wondering what else I can try. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Then it finally worked.
I've been up and running ever since.

I'm having the same problem. I've taken all of the same troubleshooting steps. My motors are working fine and the stepper drivers are working fine.

What version version of the firmware bare you running? I just downloaded the latest from github and no luck. I've seen one suggestion of moving everything to E1 on the ramps board. I might try that next
