Corexy jerking motion

This is my first time using a RAMPS board and Marlin firmware, and I'm running into some issues.

I'm running some initial tests of a corexy setup and whenever I send a motion command and the motors will make a high pitched noise and make a jerking motion instead of a slow, smooth movement. I'm assuming the issue is related to the motor currents or something in the configuration.h file, but I haven't found it yet.

Has anyone had this problem before?

This may seem to be a dumb question but have you installed or checked for the jumpers underneath the stepper drivers for microstepping? All three should be installed for 1/16th using a4988 steppers. Also another dumb suggestion, are your motor pots tuned to correct voltage?
