I am unable to get onto my RepRap Wiki account, even though I can get onto my normal RepRap account. Trying the "I forgot my password" does not seem to result in an email being sent to me - my email on the Wiki may be out of date.

The significance is that, over the years, I have accumulated a lot of notes and drawings about bed leveling methods and probes and thought I might knock them into shape and put them in the Wiki. These are all about the theory and practice - not where or what to buy.

A secondary question: Is there a way of putting references in an article on the Wiki?

My email address appears to have been changed from my current one to an obsolete one, As confirmation of change of email is presumably through email, how do I change it back to what it should be witout risking my account falling into a black hole?

Hey Admins

I've been trying to tidy up parts of the WIKI, improving readablity and removing duplication.

I would like to take this a bit further by:

- Refreshing the main page reflecting the current state of the reprap movement, improving the call to actions and moving some of the existing content to the history/about page.
- Align the menu options with the {{Portal Header}}.
- consolidate then remove some duplicate model pages.

Wondering if I can get access to this to help out by doing this work or pair with someone with the access to bring it up to date?

Sometime around July of last year I did a decent amount of preliminary/exploratory research into some potential routes to manufacturing integrated circuits, and wrote a fair amount on my ideas for potential components of how to do it. For example, there's some promising stuff on graphene production and non-bulk/maskless doping mechanisms (e.g. laser doping), I'm very into the concept of self-replicating decentralised manufacturing and my desire to contribute on this is related to my frustration at the fragility of supply chains and desire for true-open hardware (note that when I say self-replicating, I generally refer to the notion of a system capable of producing all complex components for itself, where the lower the minimum structural sophistication of any of it's external required inputs to produce a copy, the "more" self-replicating it is ^.^).

I tried to post it to the wiki on a new page but it got blocked for spam (since I linked research papers, which I found out recently is probably what caused the edit to be locked out), which makes sense but I didn't realize what specific characteristic was causing it at that time.

I did try to message an admin on the forum via PM but I didn't get a reply (fair enough, people have their own lives ^.^), and then my attention went elsewhere and I got a bit frustrated and didn't come back to sort it out or make a post here because of social anxiety, a shift in attention, and other more serious stuff.

However, I've come back to this as well as done more research on some more radical potential production methods and alternate fabrication processes as well, and have been exploring more mechanisms for those, and I want to post all this stuff publicly on the wiki where others with more resources than myself can contribute or do practical experiments, and so that the basic ideas can't get re-discovered elsewhere, patented, and locked down. As such, I want to sort out:

Letting me create the page "Semiconductor Manufacturing" or otherwise get my partial work out there onto the wiki by whichever method is best for doing that, which is what I tried to do originally last year
Clarifying the correct location and pages for development of new fabrication processes (or potential components of processes), and more exploratory engineering stuff or research paths. More generally, where does development of non-3D-printer self-replicating technology go on the wiki or even on the forum?

For context on the kind of things involved in what I have put together, I've essentially done searches through a number of research topics and papers, as well as an examination of existing technologies and their precision, to scout out potential ways to perform the various parts of 3D synthesis or 2.5D circuitry construction - for instance, patterning, dopants, layer composition, etc. and built up partial notes on various potential ways to do each of them as well as how they might be combined or what they are compatible with.

e.g. I've looked at various processes that can produce graphene on certain classes of polymers, as well as ways to *pattern* where that process occurs, and then by logic you can probably combine various different types of patterning and various different types of localised graphene production, and various different thin film synthesis mechanisms for those polymers, to come up with a matrix of potential processes to explore ^.^

I'm not going to link my user page on the wiki because I don't know if that will trigger some sort of filter, but it's "Sapient cogbag" (basically because wiki software mangles my online identity/name into a weird capitalized version with a space in it ;p).

Hi, in view that no other administrator has shown and that the german administrator called Viktor Dirks with VDK pseudonym has not acknowledged his xenophobic and scapegoating comments based in racism nor apologized for his racism, nor has removed his racist comments and has blocked and moved my thread and finally has tried to justify his racism by saying that he has lived in central asia and also has tried to apology for being insensible rather than racist and xenophobic in front of a chinese citizen, which i'm not, I'm from canary islands, i will open a lawsuit in the European Court of Human Rights ECHR against Viktor Dirks and any other European administrator and also against reprap.org for not only the posting of racism by this forum administrators but by using their administrators status to maintain institutional racism in reprap.org when trying to block the exposure of their racism .

This is the right thing to do and i hope this helps to make a precedent to remove supremacism and racism from international technology forums.

I will inform the developments of this lawsuit and will publish it in reddit and other 3d-printing, cnc, diy, etc forums directing the responsibility to reprap.org

as i said there must be other forum administrators that can expel, ban or remove his normalized hate speech in the shape of generalizations without evidence or cultural or racial smears (masked as opinion or free speech) in the following days, if that's not the case i will erase my account and this thread content (or remove the thread and leave the account and this post in visibility) and make another thread in other forum that doesn't allow racial supremacy, that otherwise is still permited in youtube with various uploaded videos smearing chinese products as part of a big chinese thing rather than focus in the chinese brands that produce them and their market segment.

to debunk his comment, one just can type recycled "whatever" in alibaba and find that almost any chinese factory industrial production leftovers are recycled and available to buy in bulk from china because almost any commodity is monetized in contrast to german consume and throw (to fake recycling bins lol), whatever the fancy companies in us or germany that advertise their new proprietary recycling processes, that obviously have no large market presence or have not being applied, and also if the us or germany claim that they don't contaminate is because they export their industrial contamination footprint to china, a country that has their own environmental legislation as well and most of their population live in the communist side with no consumerism at all (that doesn't justify their legal contamination or industrial complex "as usual" imported by the us, germany, uk, etc)

Racism in Germany: A Chinese-American reckoning

i find insulting techno smears and scapegoating towards the chinese, however this is an international forum and i cannot compare my emotions with asians and chinese users that can read those racist derogative generalizations and their reactions feeling impotent towards allowed racism and scapegoating or just leaving the forum.

I ask for the expulsion of this forum's administrators VDX and also b4ndit and NewPerfection as they have been defending him exposing their racism as well in an international forum, I could ask their identification to take legal action in an european court, at least VDX that is german

Would it be possible to create a new forum under "Machines Organized by Name" (https://reprap.org/forum/index.php?149) dedicated to the Portabee line of printers? There were 2 printers released -- the original Portabee, and the later Portabee Go, both of which are portable/foldable 3D printers. The company's web page seems no longer to be active, but the last version from late 2018 can be seen here: [web.archive.org] .

There seem to be some scattered users and scattered information about these printers on the web. It might be nice if we could start a community discussion forum here for Portabee users.

Malformed links to messages in email notifications (no replies)

Whenever I receive email notifications the url seems to have a stray semicolon at the end. See attached pic.

Clicking on it takes me to the start of the topic and I have to manually edit the url to get to the correct message.

It only does this on my tablet. Works fine on a PC.

Would it be possible to implement a filter on posts so that anyone who enters a < or a > character automatically gets them replaced with the appropriate html codes & # 6 0 ; or & # 6 2 ; (without the spaces)

Just tried posting a snippet of code with a #incude < somefile.h > and the editor said yip fine and broke the HTML.
I fixed it manually, but many others probably wouldn't know what is going on...

Recently, I've seen a lot of posts to threads that have been 2+ years old. Has anyone considered auto-locking a thread after its been dormant 6-months to a year old so it can't be resurrected?

It's rather annoying to look at some of these posts and realize its a few years old with a new post all the way at the bottom. Just thought I'd ask if it was ever looked into.

I just tried to reply to a post an I got a message saying that my post was refused because it contained a banned word. After hacking various bits out of reply, I established that the banned word was a link to another post in these forums. What gives? Some sort of hashing clash?

I tried linking to the previous post in that thread, but that link was rejected too.
