Running into problems with Marlin (first time user).

I am uncertain why as I did not write anything in the language.h file that would cause these errors. Is it a bug in the Marlin firmware? Thank you!

Hey guys! I had a stepper driver over heat on me and I want to get printing before Christmas and replacements will take far too long to get here. Is there anyone selling printer parts in the Nova area that can hook me up with some a4988's?

I guess a lot has happened in two years. I've moved to Seattle, and just unpacked my Mendel. Seems to be in decent working order aside from a clogged nozzle. Hope you RepRappers back in Maryland are doing well. :)

Hello, I'm in the dc metroplexe and i wish to create a Prusa Mendel Reprap iteration 2. I'm still in high school ergo I don't have much funding or build options.
My main problem today is i need to get the printed parts to start building the reprap. I do know i can obtain these through certain sites but its expensive and
i'll consider every option to cut down the cost.
Is there someone nearby that's willing to print the parts for me and/or help me get started? I'd really appreciate it!
Maybe we can come to some type of an agreement.

I bought Shapeoko. I bought it used and overpaid. Not very happy.
Z axis is too short so I will elongate it. Everything else seems perfect.

Currently I want to buy some board for my machine that will require minimal thinking/programming/soldering to set up.

I need some part to be turned on a lathe and wound for a reasonable pay. (I hope the machinist will have nylon stock)
I am trying to make a special Tesla coil. (they dont sell this kind of secondary on ebay)

I can drive to DC or Baltimore as long as I won't be charged too much money and my work will be respected.

Hello.
I want to learn how to program Arduino microcontroller.
I know some C programing language, no Assembly. I never made projects that were complex enough for C++. I have a hard time using Assembly because it makes me think of reinventing the wheel sometimes. I write a code that is already a part of some C command.
I had to use Assembly but I followed directions in the book or copycatted someone else's code. It seems like there are many versions of Assembly for different compilers/manufacturers of microcontrollers.

I want to use Arduino for sensors, signal generation, some basic mathematical analysis of data, controlling stepper motors and for USB interface.
Can you recommend me a book to read or a class t go to, near Frederick MD?

I have a problem that I have to learn those things alone. None of my friends are interested in this stuff. Even those who work with IT.
In the past I messed with PIC microcontrollers but got nowhere because I used software that was not very well supported and for other reasons.

Help me please.

I see that there are many people who try to make money by selling the device kit on Ebay.
I would prefer to buy it from those who would benefit the development project.

Hello.
I would like to know if there are any people in the Washington DC / Baltimore area that develop open source 3D printers.
I have an idea of how to make a very precise 3D printer very cheaply, but I want to know more about the control algorithms and electronics that are involved in this process.

Arduino - C++ - some stepper motor controllers.

I want to learn more about the open-source approach to 3D printing.

What kind of software is used to enter coefficients to determine a distance of travel per 1 step of the stepper motor?

Is there a group of enthusiasts who develop RepRap in Baltimore&DC area?

I have a number of ways I can improve the 3D printer, I feel. I don't want people to take advantage of my ideas as their intellectual property. I want to hand it to the masses. And of course I want to discuss those ideas with 3D printing gurus in the first place to make sure they are even worth being built.

One idea has to do with making circuit boards and mounting electronics on them.
Another idea has to do with making the machine more accurate for some classes of work.
The third idea is about making the cheap version of the machine for more poor societies where precision parts are mostly post-consumer.

Hey that's a good suggestion. I've tried it with and without the PSU attached, but trying it after detaching RAMPS never occurred to me.

It's a 2560 with Polulu A4988 Steppers and RAMPS 1.4

Did you try uploading the fw to the Arduino Megaby itself (without the RAMPS shield) and without applying external 12V power? Which Arduino Mega do you have?

Hey brnrd,

It isn't that I prefer one over the other. Ever since purchasing RAMPS I've been having trouble getting Sprinter to upload to it. No compilation errors. The idle LED will blink once and then nothing until Arduino gives up and gives me a timed-out error. When it works properly the LED will blink once, pause, then blink rigorously and finish up in seconds. At first I was able to work through the problem simply by unplugging the USB from the computer for a few seconds and hitting the reset button on the board a few times before attempting each upload and now it wont work at all. The a-b connector fits a little loose in the boards plug so I tried changing that out with three different cables to no avail. Finally gave up and now I'm working on compilation errors with this 1.3b board. haha

Living in Northern Virginia (Stafford.) If you guys ever hold a meetup I'd love to go.

I've owned a Printrbot since before all the STL files were even released. Had a good fellow print the ones available at the time for me and then the rest of them when they were available and I put it all together from pictures of the finished product on Flickr. haha

Currently switching out the RAMPS for a Sanguinololu 1.3b board from reprap.me and planning on expanding the X/Y build space as far as possible in the nearish future.

HacDC...either this Thursday or the coming Monday (I'm usually there at least those two days every week). Bring you, your bot and whatever questions you got. We will figure it out.

As for the missing pieces, I can print you whatever extruder you want. If you want to use the parts you have noq, that's fine...if you want a whole new extruder, that's fine too. Let me know what you want and we'll go from there.

I finally received my PrintrBot parts and started assembling the base. The laser-cut wood parts needed some adjustment, and there aren't any good assembly instructions, so I have work from videos that don't provide a clear view of the entire process. Parts that were supposed to be reversible, didn't seem to line up, and it's been a little frustrating to watch the video, attach the part wrong, and see the guy go back and fix his mistake (someone needs to go back and edit the videos).

I'm missing a plastic part, so I'm stuck assembling the extruder.

The build info points to the extruder parts here:

But they don't match the large and small gears with a herringbone pattern that I was supposed to receive. I need a small herringbone gear or I need the standard large and small extruder gears.

I think I'm about to the point where it'd be worth meeting up -- especially if someone with an assembled printer wouldn't mind helping with the last few steps. Once my printer is operational, I'd like to build another with my own printed parts.

I'm South of Rockville, near 495 & 270.

Ok, I've searched long enough and come up empty at a place near my home. BUT luckily I've become a member of HacDC and I am going to start holding 3D printer users groups meetings there.

I'd like to host them on a Saturday, in hopes that as many people could come out then as opposed to sometime during the week. Let's start off just once a month? Say start at 12 (noon)? I'd be able to start as soon as possible, how does next Saturday (July 7th) sound for folks? Short notice so we can push back another week or two?

Visit HacDC.org and get the scoop for the address and what we're all about at the space! And feel free to visit on non-3D printer related days (especially Monday and Thursday nights!)
