Are (most) all 1 KG filament spools a standard size? Before I start making the parts to hold filament for my printer, I want to verify that there is a basically standard spool size for the filament. I am going to work on some ideas for anti - snarl components which may be of help to some of you. Another thing to do as you re-spool - run it through someting to clean any dust / dirt / crud off of the outside of the filament. It's easy enought to do and it won't slow anything down.

I've seen Filament Cleaners on printers but don't think I've seen them on (re) spoolers
