Final Layers

Was wondering if anyone as any good techniques through slicer or otherwise to slow printer down when printing final layers? Having issues with objects not cooling fast enough, especially those with peaks. Imagine a pyramid printing fine and then as the print finishes the top layers just get pushed around and deformed. Ive found printing multiple of the object or adding a sacrificial object thats taller than the designed print can help but its not really preferable.

Look in the cooling settings in slic3r under filament. Enable auto cooling. Don't worry about the fan options, but you'll see some that say if a layer takes less than xx seconds, slow down the printing.
