Out of filament using stock Anet a8 board?

Here is what I would like to do. I have a Anet a8 printer with the stock board and don’t want to buy another board. I am using Marlin firmware.
What I want is when I ran out of filament for the printer to pause. I will use a switch to detect the filament. The problem is there are no extra pins on the anet board to connect the out of filament switch to or could I use the MISO pin?. Is there a way to use one of the existing stop switch pins on the printer something like the was an auto bed leveler works using the Z switch pin and still be able to home all of the machine axis.
In other words is there a way to edit Marlin firmware to accomplish what I would like to do?
