prusa i3 zonestar connection issues

There are some threads online about this issue but with no working solution for me. I have a new prusa I3 zonestar. It came with the repetier software and some drivers for ftdi USB.

Windows recognizes that the printer is connected, when I go to device manager and check the printer ( on COM3 ) it shows my bits to be 9600. From everything I read online, every one seems to be settled that it should read 250,000. But Im unable to get that on the drop list. ( this may be the issue, but not sure )

So I open repetier, and in the printer settings, I select COM3, and I have tried all the bit selections possible. they all return with the following error.

Serial com error:System.IO.Ports.SerialErrorReceivedEventArgs

Can anyone help me set this up ? help would be greatly appreciated. thank you.
