What Cura version are you using? Have you found the settings in Cura?

I can see that the print in the picture has warped upwards.
Do you have painters masking tape on the bed. Or what is the print sticking to on the bed?
Does you're fan work, thats cools the print around the nozzle?
For PLA, its best to habit to full. or almost full effect.

Thing is. if it warps. The nozzle will drag the tip in the print.

If you find the settings in Cura. I will help you adjust them to what I think is basic settings for this kind of printer.
But printers are individuals. so it might need more fine tweaking.

Hi.
Layer hight is how much the nozzle moves up per printed layer. If you get what I mean?
0.4mm nozzle. Normalt you print with 0.2mm layerhight.
Think about a big stack of pancakes! Mm very single pankacke is a layer of pancake! (Now I got hungry!
Printer speed is the speed the nozzle travels in x and y axis. Z i movement in hight.. ex z moves nozzle up 0.2mm per layer.

Retraction is what its sounds like.
When the filament is fred tru the nozzle during print. It is some pressure in the nozzle. When the nozzle moves to another place to print. (While printing a layer)
it has to stop. Bit the overpressure in the nozzle will push out some extra filament. For example PLA.
To stop the happening. The feeder motor retrackts some filament. In other words. Backsit out from the nozzle. Since it is soft. Its more like creating a sshort period of suction.
Try to hold the filament between the fingers, during a print. Shou should feel the filament go backwards once in a while.

Overextrution is if the nozzle feeds out to much filament during printing. You get to much of the good stuff!
Underextrution is the opposite!
That can be calibrated. The stepper motor that feeds the filament needs calibration. Its usally named E-motor. (Extruder)
You might be able to adjust E-motor in the printers menu?

Thanks for the reply.
Sorry I didn't state it the printer is a CTC Prusa i3 copy off ebay.
It's a DIY printer that comes in 5 parts.
The filament is PLA.
The nozle is .04 Diameter temp was 189 and the bed temp was 60.
As I've said I'm new to all this.
I have no clue about calibration of the extruder and the pulley diameter and the rest of the stuff the calculator need's to know.
Thank you all

Several things, but to list a few:

Over extrusion.
Probably too hot.
Retraction settings too small.
Wobbly Z axis.

Now can you give me some more info like:

Printer style, model, it came assembled or you put it together? Type of filament, temperatures of both hotend and bed, slicer settings including layer height, nozzle size, speed. But most importantly, did you calibrate your printer on all axis including extruder?

There is no magical solutions for your print, it's just setting your printer right and then pretty much trial and error which settings works best for the printer and the filament used.

probably a combination of things, First the stringing is from not quite enough retraction, but the stringing is really a minor issue. It appears you are over extruding. Meaning you are pushing too much plastic. Have you calibrated your extruder? You really need to do that. Also the tops of the object appear to come up in the corners, I would bet you need to reduce temp just a bit and you should add a print cooling fan. That would be a fan that cools the print, that should help to solve the lifting corners.
