Connecting your Duet 0.85 Straight to Computers Ethernet

Ok i thought i would post this here for relevance and searchable material as i struggled myself to understand what i needed to do to run the duet 0.85 from the computer alone without no bridge or needing a router or cross over cable as my delta i wanted it to be able to take it places where there might not be router, now this as i believe will only work if your adapter has autoconfiguration,

To check i opened command prompt and typed in ipconfig/all look for this

Then i went to my settings opened the Ethernet tab/change adapter settings
Then right clicked Ethernet in network card go to properties

I highlighted internet protocol version 4 (tcp/ip4) and select use te following as i set my duet ip address as 192.168.0.31 so i put in one few numbers below

Im glad i got it too work as webcontrol user interface is probably best interface ive used to control a printer
