Mirror (+backup) servers

Hi again,

I'd love to run a mirror of the RepRap wiki and perhaps some more stuff. The mirror would be to handle slashdotting more easily (my (co-founded) company [www.budgetdedicated.com] has 5 gigabit uplinks, though actually fully using them would be quite expensive). Besides simply bandwidth and accessibility of the information, I'd like to ensure that this (ever growing) valuable knowledgebase is not lost: a backup location.

Like the Wine project, which is one of our larger sponsor projects, we wish to help out the RepRap community. I already mirror the LiveCD ISO because torrent was the only option.

Who currently manages the NZ server? I'd like to run an rsync of all Twiki files (it's very easy to run redundant since its entirely round robin. Read only users could be forwarded to the location that is fasted for them (Amsterdam+Eindhoven, Europe or New Zealand).

Regards,

Erik de Bruijn

Hey Erik,

Right now we're trying to transition to dedicated server someone donated to us. Unfortunately nobody really has the time to manage that sort of thing (we're all too busy working on our machines, heh.)

If you're interested in helping us migrate our stuff to the new server, it would be very easy for you to setup your rsync stuff from there.

if this is interesting to you, please let me know and i can get you setup with the stuff to make it happen.
