Mendel LITE?

So I want to build a working Mendel using the least amount of material possible... Yet stay within the traditional RepRap constraints and not veer into RepStrap territory.

I've scoured thingiverse and compiled a list of parts I'm planning on using here;

Looking for any available input.

I honestly think using those are complete suicide. The original design is not stable enough as it is and removing two of the four bushings from the Z axis is just asking for trouble.

I agree. First and foremost, you want a machine that works well. Months from now, the amount of plastic you used to make it will be long forgotten.

Im still going to build one, lol. The Z bolt is press fit and a slightly longer pair of oilite bushings will be plenty. The flex is in the X bars more than the mounts.
