ABS fumes?

I'm building a box for my Prusa I want to add an exhaust fan for ABS fumes and I don't know if the fumes are heaver than air or lighter. Soooo? I will post picks of the box when it is done. Thanks!

Probably lighter than the surrounding air if you use a heated bed. I never really find the fumes to be too bad though.

I can only smell the fumes if I put my head directly above the extruder

I'm not being whiny over the smell, it just makes my throat "little" scratchy and gives me a "very" slight headache. Who would ever guessed that out of all the nasty crap I have played with over all these years this is the one that slightly irritates me. Besides, a containment box that also is a secured transport box with lighting and exhaust, how cool is that?

Always a good idea to vent. Of course, I haven't done it... but I do think about it.

I'm sure that the hot fumes that are being emitted are lighter than the room temp surrounding air, but with
a decent enclosure and a moderate fan to draw it through, it shouldn't matter.

Hows that box coming? Im thinking of something similar since my wife is hating the smell.
