8 wire to 4 wire conversion help

Hey all,

I was wondering if I could get some help as to how to turn my 8 wire stepper motor into a 4 wire configurations that will work with sangulolu 1.3a controls and Pololu A4988 stepper drivers. I attached a wire diagram from the stepper manufacturer. I think you can just not hook up 4 wires as some wires are redundant, but I just need help as to what to do.

Here is what I would try:

Connect ORG/WHT and BLK/WHT together.
Connect RED/WHT and YEL/WHT together.
Drive Orange Black as one pair and Red Yellow as the other in a standard 4 wire configuration.
