so, i have this fiberglass crystal like stuff growing around my hotend.
it started after i went from abs to pla.
my hotend is leaking, so im thinking it has something to do with that.

Has it started talking to you or waved at you yet?

Could it be ABS residue? Did you make sure to really purge the ABS before going to PLA and running at a lower temp?
And when you say leaking, is it oozing from the nozzle or leaking from up higher?

i tried to take pics but i have the worst camera in the world.
its not a big deal. i can fix the hotend.

Sometimes leaks will flow metled plastic dripping from above (maybe hot and cold parts joint). This residue may get burned if it lasts a long time in the hot area, or it may drip onto the parts being printed.

Or it can be a Gremlin embryo, just avoid the water!

Is it perhaps a techzone hotend with oak block? Because I have had one extrude out the pores in the oak and grow hair. (I had it set too low and the pressure must have been too high. )
