Hi Gene Hacker,
i followed the f@h-development the last year too, but either f@h nor reprap can do the finishing - the surface-accuracy is much to coarse
The best try in the actual stage would be lost-cast-moulding with fields metall or lowtemp-wax (which didn't stick to epoxy) and mould with epoxy ...

Actually my sons insist in building 'personalized' figurines for their favorite boardgames - when i'll do this, it would mean some months designing and milling

... i've designed a complete set of stacked pieces:
If someone is interested in milling or fabbing them i'll append the DXF-output and when converted for my mill there would be optimized DXF, HPGL or NCP ... i'm searching a GCode-converter ...

I used a sample-sheet of laminate with 0.8mm thickness and milled with a 1mm-head.
