Tangleball gets another RepRap

Tangleball gets another RepRap

Yesterday during the Tangleball makerday that we regularly have, Vik Olliver dropped off the "Grandad"dy of all RepRaps.

It has seen better days, and i'm honoured to have it at the maker space, and get it back into operation again.

The whole thing is twisted, doesn't have an extruder, or nozzle, no controller, and has missing parts.

It does have a heater barrel, stepper drivers for all axes, and an Arduino 328 that requires programming with TeaCup firmware.

Thought i'd share in this historical moment smiling smiley

By the way, that RepRap on the left is my baby.

Almost Frankenstein in a way, yes!

From now on, when Tangleball here in Auckland, New Zealand has a Maker day, or hosts a Software Freedom Day, we can show how the open source project has evolved, in a very short time span.

But the old man needs a new ticker and pen to draw new things that he'd never would have seen otherwise.

Okay, too many metaphors, but you get the gist.
