Problems with Gregs extruder after switching from a wades

So last night I was printing and kinda had a extruder failure with my Wades thats been working great since Oct. Now I had already printed a Gregs and a set of herringbone gears so I figured Id just upgrade now (It was meant for my next RepRap). So after taking all the time to get everything together and fit just right, for the life of me I cant seem to get the filiment to grab on the bolt. The hobbed bolt I have is more "serrated" id guess. Its still "flat" if you look at it sideways and not convex in the area of the hobbing. Is this the issue, or is there some special trick to preloading the Gregs extruder? Also, im not liking how the one bearing on this kinda "floats" and isnt secured from lateral movement.
I do have a New hobbed bolt on the way from Ultimachine. On his site he says its specially hobbed for the Gregs due to it being directional and wont work with a wades. I never heard of that before. But as long as it works - im game.

Any Ideas?
Thanks!
Jeff
