V5 Hot End Outdated?

I am ordering from Reprapworld.com and although I want to go with a j-head I am seriously considering the V5 that they offer so that everything arrives at once and I'll save on shipping. I am worried that I will run into problems people were having a year ago when this model was in use. I assume there has since been 5 models as mendel-parts is on v10. Either way I will personally be using a J-head but will be selling the rest. Does anyone have any experience with them, how have they been improved? Am I wasting my time with them?

Some people make that type of hot end work very well, others - like me - break one after another. It relies on threaded PTFE as a structual part, which will not stand up to very much abuse.

The version number tells you absolutely nothing when comparing various types, as they are individual to each model.

I suggest you go for a j-head, makergear, arcol or buda (lulzbot) instead.
