Strange new problem

Hey all, have a new strange problem. Using Pronterface/Slicer, after homing the axis and hitting print, it just sits their at home, I pause
print wait for control of printer, raise 10 on Z axis, move X over a few, move Y back a few, lower Z back 10 and hit resume and it works
fine. I have a Prusa Mendel . I don't recall changing anything as it didn't use to do this. Printing with PLA, temps seem correct at 200 on first
layer. I don't want to go in and try to change a bunch of things and potentially make it worse, still learning how to use it. Any help would be
greatly appreciated

I have had issues with the hot end not able to each temp. For some reason once by hot end is close to or touches the bed it will not get up the set temp causing the host program to pause untill hot end temp is reached. I believe this is due to the bed sucking away heat from the hot end and not able to keep up. I fixed this way

1) Home X, Home Y, Z @10mm Then I manually set my hotend temp to 5-8 deg above my target temp. By the time it goes through the homing sequence again it is right around the target temp and then runs

Another thing I noticed was around slic3r 7.1 I believe they added a bed target temp as well. For me when printing ABS I was never able to reach my suggested bed temp. What happend was slic3r placed in some G-code that said "Wait till bed temp reaches XXX" well my bed never reached that so it just sat. To fix I set my suggested bed temp to "0" in slic3r and manualy set the temp in the host software.

I do a similar thing, my printer used to just sit at home for a while so I would home it, go to Z + 10mm and set the target temp 10 above. Then while I am getting everything set (print bed cleaned, heated, and prepped with a little abs juice) it will get up to temp. Once I click print it goes to home and waits only a few seconds to cool down and then goes right to printing.
