Wallace Y movement?

So, I have slowly been working on the design of my printer, and noticed that the y-axis belt on a Wallace is not a full loop. I though this was an interesting idea, but I can not find a picture showing how this works. All I can find is a picture showing how to attach the end! No detailed descriptions or pictures of how the motor moves the belt or where the other end is.

Does anyone have a Wallace? Could you try to describe how this is set up or post pictures? I would like to considder using this on my 3d printer so less belt is required, but I can't if I don't know how it works!

It's just held at either end of the bed and the motor/pulley acts on the centre of the belt.
