Pronterface junk in com's window wonr conect help!

Hello fello printers,

Im new to 3D printing YAY
But i carnt connect to my 2nd hand 3D stuffmaker cREATOR. Ive installed the driver and it seemed to work and gave me a com port no. but when i open Pronterface and click connect i just get junk in the com's window (see pic) and the operations are greyed out. I think its ment to say connected ok version ect...

Does the control board need new software or is it just a drive problem??
Any help appreciated

You need to match the baud rate.
do you know what baud rate the printer is set at? and the software?
These need to match, typically set at 250k baud.
