Artefacts In Prints

Hi Guys

I've attached two images that show the issue I am getting. I'm printing on a Huxley with the default Reprappro Slic3r settings and printing 1.75mm PLA with a .5mm nozzle. I've tried various brands of PLA and various temperatures but seem to have this persisting problem with small artefacts on any curved surface or corner. Slabs in one plane print perfectly.

Any suggestions would be gratefully received.

Regards

Andy

What retraction setting are you using? Distance and speed.

Those are the points where your perimeter passes complete and Z changes to the next layer. Either not retracting enough, or retracting too much which lets the nozzle sit in one spot too long causing an overmelt point.

What were your printing parameters?

I'd try a small test print with Retract on layer change turned off.

I would make sure minimum outside perimeter is at least 2, also lower flow rate. you need to calculate retraction setting as well.

Thanks for the suggestions. I understand most of them but I'm not clear on how I calculate my retraction settings?
