I saw a very long while ago that someone mounted the x carriage over a probe (with a hall effect sensor on one side and a magnet on the other), and instead of moving the carriage up and down, it moved the probe up and down (moving the trapped nut over to the probe), effectively pushing the carriage, so if the hot end touched the bed, the probe would lose contact with the carriage, and would then send the signal to trigger min-z.
My question is then: does someone know where I can get the files that show this, and it it was reliable?
