Avg Price Of Filament? Will The Price Ever Drop?

Hello,

I was just wondering what people found to be a good avg price for some good quality filament. Also i understand it is new technology to avg consumers and just like everything else cassette, vhs, dvd, blue ray etc, should drop in price sooner or later. Does anyone believe that maybe there could be something that replaces Pla and Abs in the near future?

Relatively the material incredibly cheap to a lot of other 3d processes a 1kg spool goes a long way. £20 ( dirty ebay stuff ) to £40 for a kilo of extruded plastic seems fairly reasonable to me.

Thanks for the feedback. Just trying to make sure i dont over pay for filament.
