Newbie can't save EEPROM settings
January 14, 2015 02:20PM
Just built a Huxley kit with a Melzi controller, and can't save my default EEPROM settings in Pronterface.

Entering M02 gives a "Hardcoded Default Settings Loaded" message, and entering M503 shows a list of values (that I assume are correct). Problem is that entering M500 SHOULD permanently save these settings, but all I get is a "Sending M500" message.

The printer seems to respond correctly to other Pronterface commands like bed movement, Temp settings, Etc, and appears to give proper responses when clicking on "Check temp" and "GET POS". I say "seems to" and "appears to".cuz, being a newbie" I can't be certain they are correct.

I am a newbie and this is my first exposure to 3D printing, so any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks, Bill

You have to enable eeprom setting in firmware when you compile it first

ie uncomment [github.com] and [github.com] recompile and upload to your board.
