Problems with M.O.B 3d Printer
June 19, 2013 07:40AM
Nice to meet you all,

I have M.O.B 3d printer-Romsrcaj and I'm encountering some problems

This is my steps after before operating the printer
1. i install the ftpi driver (FTDI_win7_XP_VISTA_2k_x64_x32)
2. i install the arduino firmware (1_arduino-0018-incl_sanguino + 2-Marlin-v1.0.0.RC2-94-Orca-043-settings)
3. i install the pronterface (01_python272 + 02_pyserial-25 + 03_wxpython-28 + 04_pyreadline17 + 05_Printrun) connect to com 10 with baude 250000

then Inside the pronterface
*The Z axis works fine
*The extruder heated but 2 fans is not operable
*The bed heater is not even getting hot
*The x and y axis only able to go 1 direction and if we reverse the direction, only go 0.1 step
*when i try to print something, the machine suddenly sound very high and vibrating uncontrollably

I'm using Windows 7 pro 64 bit SP 1, memory 8 GB DDR3, Processor i53550
All the drivers i installed from reprap.com

Do anybody have any solution for these problems?
What drivers should i install? where to find it?
i have been tried to contact romscraj but it seems the website is down and my email is not being replied
i also already discuss this with Alzibiff, but i'm still in confusion

Best Regard,
Adi Sentosa

Adi,
I suspect that the lack of responses to this post is down to the unknown - what IS a "M.O.B 3d printer-Romsrcaj "? Not something I have ever heard of. If this is a ready built 3D printer, or for that matter a kit of parts, your first port of call should be to the manufacturer/supplier.

Where did you find out about this machine? Where did it come from? Did you build it?

Alan
Hi Adi,

My friend owns 1 of this and I assume you bought an unassembled set.
Let me try to help u answer your questions.

then Inside the pronterface
*The Z axis works fine -> that gd

*The extruder heated but 2 fans is not operable -> have you tried "M106 S255" on the interface in proterface

*The bed heater is not even getting hot -> My friend only manage to get it to only 40-60 degrees. This is due to the resistance of the heater bed apparently.

*The x and y axis only able to go 1 direction and if we reverse the direction, only go 0.1 step. ->
have you check your wiring? (wrong wiring, loose connection, etc) Please also do a connectivity check on your stepper motors too. (Ie use a multimeter and test connection 1 to 2 to 3 to 4, there should only be 2 pins connected to each other)

*when i try to print something, the machine suddenly sound very high and vibrating uncontrollably

Which slicer are you using? skeinforge, cura or slic3r. <-- This might be due to the slicer u used or due to your 3rd problem.

Hope this will help.

Congyan

Hi all,

@Alzibiff
I got this from my friend from NTU as my birthday present (just a few days ago)
T_T
and... My friend is not very familiar with these kind of thing
so i'm on own way now
I heard the romscraj is based in Singapore,
i already contacted the him/ them? but there is no response
him/ his website is down too at the moment...*sigh...

@Chongyan,
It's already assambled when i open the package
Now i'm dissamble and checking the parts one by one
With multitester checking the wiring and the motor one by one

*I already tried M106 S255 on the interface in proterface -> Those 2 fans still off

*The bed heater is only and still 25 degree (room themp - turning the bed heater on or off is just the same)

*The x and y axis, it is fine when i switch it with the Z axis socket;
when we put it back it their orginal socket - it is still have the same problem

*I used Cura for the slicer; but there is no printing because the machine somehow "stuck"; is it because the "wrong" firmware?

I already tried from these links, but it didn't help
[modlr.blogspot.com]
[modlr.blogspot.com]
[modlr.blogspot.com]
I even download the installer pack from reprap.com
and install them one by one; still got the same result

Echo: Endstops Hit (for Y and X always trigger)

I'm also curious;
how to compile repetier firmware with ardunio 0022 or 1.0.4
because i always got SIP.cpp error when compiling it

*I'm afraid the problem lies on the correct and compatible firmware;
and i didn't know which firmware it is? and where i can download it?
I already checked the PCB Type is Arduino OK PCB 0021 B1 (gen6d maybe...?)

If there is anybody or somebody have the same kind of M.O.B. 3d printer
I would be very grateful
If they would kind enough to share step by step how to operate and install this "magical" printer

Thank you all for replying this post
Still much to learn from you all

Why do you upload a Orca (real Gen6Deluxe) firmware to a other electronic/printersetup, i think this is your main problem ...
the board you have shouldn`t be called Gen6 Deluxe as this already exists and has an other configuration.
So best way is to get a documentation from the dealer where the board is from ...

Oh No....
When i got the 3d printer
My friend didn't give me any CD or installer guide
He just told me that i should download it from the internet...
When i ask him about the website where should i download
He replied with the same answer...just google it...@_@

The "supplier" can't be reached...
uhm...what should i do...*confused

Thank you for your advice Chris
I didn't know that what i'm done is quite fatal for the board
I upload the wrong firmware...
and i have no idea or any clue to find/ download the compatible one
with the "supplier" can't be reached/ contacted

Hello all,

Finally it is able to print
I'm sooo happy to see it's on the move
I'm following Alzibiff and Chri advice, i contacted the manufacturer
They only flash the firmware-change the 3 broken limiter switchs
and it is ready to print

The new advanture begin
My printing result is not so good
1. When i print with abs, it is won't stick to the heat bed and fused
The extruder heat is set to 260 Celcius
The bed heater is set to 110 Celcius

2. I would like to add additional noozle and using pva filament
Any idea how to set it up and what compatible program support to print

with 2 filaments (one is abs - another is pva or one is pla - another is pva)?

3. What interface and slicer is reccomended for rep rap with gen6d pcb board?
currently i'm using pronterface as the interface
and Cuda as the slicer
Do you all have any suggestion what and which thread should i follow?

and once again, thank you all
I really appreciate for all of your support and advice
I find out that all the advice and support is very helpful

Best regard,

Adi Sentosa

Hi Adi, the last post in this thread was 1.5 year ago, so small chance you get a reply on it. Maybe you could send the person you're replying to a personal message?
