reprap discount smart controller menu or height problem
April 29, 2015 05:04PM
Hello! I have a reprap discount smart controller connect to ramps/mega on my prusa i3 and am having, what i think to be either a menu or lcd height problem.

when i turn on the lcd i only see the first 2 lines as in the pictures. i dont see the ready status or the other menu options. Even though i cant see past those lines, i think the other menu options are there because if i scroll down and click other options show. Also most of the time the screen in garbled if i click on those other "hidden" menu options.

i have tried uncommenting multiple combinations in the configuration file to no avail. now i have define ultra lcd and reprap discount smart controller uncommented.

Does anybody know what may be the problem? any insight is truly appreciated, Thank you! smiling smiley

Are you sure you havnt selected a 2 line display rather than a 4 line display?

i have reprap discount smart controller uncommented and the lcd height and width under ulti panel and ultra lcd are both 4 and 20 respectively. is this what you mean? is there somewhere else where i can change the height and width?

Ive just had a quick scan through the config.h

The "reprap discount smart controller" from what i can see of the definitions should be a 5 line display.
But your pictures seem to be of a 4 line display.

Are you sure youve picked the right display?

no, now im not really sure. this display is a 2004 lcd smart controller. i uncommented the reprap one because the vendor had uncommented it also. heres is my configuration file if it helps. (the lcd part at least)

the 2004 is not a REPRAP_DISCOUNT_FULL_GRAPHIC_SMART_CONTROLLER, it is a 12864 LCD.
which I'm guessing is the problem.
you will need to find out which type you have.
