Is a cracked filament spool a problem?

I ordered a folger tech 2020 i3 kit and a spool of PLA. Haven't started on the kit yet but I took the filament out of the shipping container and one side of the spool has a chunk broke off. Is this going to cause an issue with it feeding or anything?

... no problem, as far it wouldn't bind -- you can glue/fix the loose chunk with glue or tape or otherwise, so it won't stick out ... looks slightly better then winking smiley

I run my spools on their rims, so when I get broken ones it is a problem, so I weld the broken bits back on with a soldering iron set to 250C.

Thanks for the replys. I didn't know if I should ask for a new one or not. Not even having the printer together I haven't even thought about if or how I would mount the spool. I will keep the broken pieces just in case.
