Ok got the thing built and squeezing goo!
Using Gen6 & Ponterface with SFACT on Win XP netbook (real kybrd & mouse and wide screen monitor; *much* nicer) Mendal Prusa, heated bed, kapton tape directly on the heater/bed ~ 100C, ABS 3mm
Is there an up to date manual for SFACT? All I see is realy the older Skienforge version. Yes, its close, but not close enough for me.
Some Qs;
How close should the Z home be? And how close shoud the nozzle tip be on first extruding a file? Mine sems to above the home position when starting a print.
SFACT seems rather confusing and things split up.
In 'speed' the defualt main feed rate (I'm assuming this is for XY) is @ 60mm/s yet the ouputted G-code is 1500
In 'Carve' should the layer hieght and extrusion width be the same? or should one trail the other?
In 'Dimmension' what is the e-step corrector and how to adjust it? I didn't see anything in the skienforge wiki on it.
I'm getting a blob at the corner when I go to next layer. (Been playing with the extruder cal 1mm=1mm and oozbane, getting better, but not enough)
I've been printing the little 20mm box of just one 'pass' wide walls
Also I swear that on *some* layers, the frontside (right after the Z+) the feed rate is faster then the other 3 sides. I could be wrong, but motor sound and visually it seems so. At 20mm tough to really time it.
I'm a service engineer for CNC lasers, and these parameters don't seem to cross over well.
I'm used to Axis feed rate, acceration, power, nozzle hieght, gas, etc.
Is there an spot to just adjust X/Y feedrate? To adjust extruder flow? As-is, it seems the adjustments are a offset/or ratio/percentage of a master rate (where's the master rate if this is so?)
On a much more minor note, but helpful for all the trial and error, a better saving/loading of profiles is needed. Whats wrong with a Save As and a Load command from the file menu?
And since I have like 5 of them, can a Raspberry Pi replace the PC? (Not looking to run the machine, just feed it. Will it run SFACT and Ponterface?)
