Hot End on Extruder

Hot End on Extruder

First time RepRap builder here. I'm trying to wire a hot end to the arduino without the use of RAMPS or GEN 6/7 (I'm trying to run RepRap through a different software, so having our custom connection to arduino is preferred). I understand I'll need a MOSFET of some sort, but I don't know how to wire the whole thing together. Ideally the temperature would be read by arduino so we could set up a system to regulate the heat of the hot end. I If someone could please post a diagram for connecting the two electrical wires and the two thermistor wires to the board, with all additional components required, I'd very much appreciate it. I think this would help the community a lot as well to have this kind of resource. Thanks so much for any help.

Just look at the schematic of any of the Reprap open source electronics and copy the bit you want.

See the Comparison of Electronics page in the RepRap wiki.

For example, the old Gen3 electronics Extruder Controller 2.2 schematic:

Thanks Bob, I'll see what I can do with this.

Hi,
I'm having the same problem of finding easily understandable intel on how to wire a hot end directly on an arduino. Would you have a few advice ?
Cheers

Would propably be a good idea to look at the RAMPS schematic.
