If anyone is interested, Big Blue Saw is having a Free Part Day on August 6.

Here are the details:
========================
* We will have two stock materials/thicknesses available for making your part on Free Part Day: waterjet cut aluminum 6061 1/8 (0.125) inches thick and laser cut clear acrylic plastic, 0.118 inches thick.
* There is a limit of one design (DXF/PNG/GIF or Big Blue Saw Designer file) per customer.
* Designs are limited in size to 9" x 9".
* We reserve the right to reject designs that are too complex or can't be made on the waterjet or the laser.
* You must pay the packaging and shipping costs.
* All orders must be completed through the online ordering process.

The ~1/8" thickness limits the design quite a bit, but if you stacked a few layers RepRap style you might be able to expand the items you could make.

was just about to post this :-)

Is there anything that can be made thats useful for reprap parts out of this? Maybe we could design some different things for people to submit?

If someone designed an extruder or even a partial extruder that could really have a big impact on the community, e.g. making one of the hardest to obtain pieces relatively easy to get.

could we slice one up into 1/8 inch slices and then get the finer detail with a drill?
