So I'm curious...
I am very impressed with the results that was referenced in the recent 3-way extruder topic, and I'm also interested in the developments wrt other materials like nylon and so forth.
Because my end-purpose for the reprap I'm building will be technical models rather than artistic, I had a thought regarding overlaid materials with different properties (for instance, I think nylon exhibits lower sliding friction than abs, but abs is structurally more rigid)
Is anyone investigating that aspect, ie, printing one material atop another (PLA over ABS, ABS over PLA, Nylon over ABS... etc.?) I'm wondering how they'll bond, or whether some simply will never bond
Forgive my ignorance, I just barely got into this ~2 months ago and am still assembling the final parts for my own 1st level machine, so I'm pretty naive as to the finer details of development efforts..
