This is the "General" section of the forum so I hope its ok to post this here.
Theres a very nice project going on on Kickstarter that is fully funded for an opensource DIY (and very inexpensive) Spectrometer! For those who dont know what it is, it allows you to analyse and identify materials and what they are composed of.
The reason I am posting here is there is 50 supporters missing for the Smartphone reward, if they get to 250 they will develop an IOS version, which would be very cool for those of us on apple products. I know I know, I should have an android but... hey my iphone was free.
So If anyone is interested and stuck with an iphone too, please join in and help make it happen!

I am sure we would even be able to find a use for that spectrometer in the Reprap community, maybe identify whats in our filament? this way we can really grade filament vendors or something like that.
