I just built a printrbot and I'm having an issue printing. My extruder head doesn't extrude during a print job.
Printer is a printrbot LC based on Mendel. Software is pronterface and skeinforge.
I'm wondering whether this is a software issue. Through pronterface I can see that the extruder head is coming up to temp. When I manually advance the extruder motor, it works just fine. (i.e., when I press the "extrude" button in pronterface the motor extrudes a length of ABS that i specify in the dropdown box with no problems.)
When I load a print file, it loads with no issues. When I press print, the rest of the motors (x, y, z) engage, and the gear that feeds ABS to the extruder never moves.
The motor is clearly working - I can operate it through my computer. It's just not working during print. What am I doing wrong? What else could I check?
