What are your favorite demonstration prints?

Some people are coming over tonight for unrelated merriment, but if the topic of my 3d printer comes up, I may want to show it off a bit. Would anyone care to share their favorite parts they like to use to give demonstrations? My main criteria is something that's fairly small (and thus fast to print.) Being something useful or cool that I could give to someone is a nice side benefit, especially if they won't end up just throwing it away.

What's your favorite thing that fits these criteria. I'll start the discussion with a perennial favorite, the bottle opener:

For Girls - Stretchlet bracelets - they take only a few minutes to print and look great

For Boys - Companion Cubes (box) - takes a little longer to print! - or any sort of chain links.

Octopus Magnet is a crowd pleaser, 'bout an hour to print one.

Burr Puzzles take longer but are worth it.

Shot Glasses are super fun if you make them water tight.

... the list goes on. Crowd pleasing, simple and fast prints are by the hundreds on thingiverse.

I would Have to say Yoda Lite by Faberdasher has been one of my favourites.

there are so many yoda heads around my house atm

I like the Mustache Ring. It's super fast to print, a fun gift, and people love it.

You have some great suggestions above. I think you are right to choose something that prints quickly, and is relatively simple but nice as a give-away. If you do one just to show the printer in action, then that should impress them (if they are going to be impressed at all! ). Then explain how it can print multiple copies at the same time and set it printing a few at a time, which you explain you can leave the printer off to do and collect later at the leave!

Let us know how they received the printer and what ever you chose to print for them. It's funny how different people take it. I find about 1:5 will want to know more, and others just go "that's nice", "you're mad!".

Oh... a quick 'give away' I use occasionally is the ear pod holder, but it's gone of Thingiverse. I also have a simple keyring tab I keep in Sketchup that I type someone's Name onto and extrude about 1.5mm and print that out. That shows a lot of things, flexibility, customisation, 3D design, and so on.

From my (admittedly limited) experience, it's the least useful things that impress people the most.

Print a usable, but unattractive thing and it's most likely to end up in the dumpster.
Print something like [www.thingiverse.com] or print a herringbone gear and they'll keep it on their desk (and continue disseminating the word of RepRap without your presence).
