Hi all! I could really use some help

i'm building my first reprappro mendel. and i'm having a problem with my toothed belts. neither the x or y axis belts run true. the belt moves from side to side on the bearings of the idlers. here is a link to two videos showing the problem [www.youtube.com] and [www.youtube.com] anyone have some advice??

You can adjust the squareness of the X axis by adjusting the screws that bear on the end of the X axis smooth rods which should sort out the x axis.

The Y axis can be adjusted by moving the bearing and the motor from side to side and also by angling the motor slightly.

I was sceptical whilst building but I have had no problems in use.

thanks MarkMarsh.

I'll give that a go. It's driving me mad. Couldn't figure out what was causing it.

The other thing to do is to fit two 608 bearings for each idler rather than one. The belt will run in the middle of them. You won't need fender washers around them, which the belt just rubs on anyway.

I heard the two bearings might work. Gotta find my old skateboard. Just moved house so everything is all over the place.

Thanks for the advice
