Panel Max prints are wrong

need some help guys

Self sourced a panel max and built it up last night (encoder and 4x20 LCD)

got it all working

menu works all okay

problem is when i run a print from the SD card using the panel max to start the print. The print is just 100% wrong as if the esteps are out or something. Iv check in the menu and there correct.

If i run a print using the SD card but start it from pronterface no problems at all.

any ideas were i should start looking?

been on it all day now relfashed firmware using latest marlin (V1) and same problem.

also had a couple of shorts today for no reason at all (12V supply goes down) but checked all i can think and no shorts anywere. dont know if its related.

just spent another 2 or so hours working on this

does the same when printing over USB
i have gone back to old firmware STILL does it.

the problem only looks to be on X axis

circles are bad and sqaures have a leg/line sticking of them

i think next things to try are another electronics board (got another on my printrbot lc)
and possibly change the X motor (Do motors break??)

no idea whats happened.

only other thing to note this morning i noticed my x carraige belt was very loose so i tigtened it up
was looking into it then as i thought this was causing the print problems but wasnt

just to mention have also changed over X and Y stepper drivers so thats not it

Are you by chance using EEPROM stored settings for your calibration. It might be that somehow your reverted to the calibration in your Configuration.h and now you have one or both axis off.

tried it without the eeprom store data just direct from USB on a print still causes the problem

just wired up a spare motor will give it another try see if it fixes the problem

well just taken off my X motor to try replacing it.....

5 months later im posting here in the forums lookin like a newb

ohh well at least im back printing.

Use a drop of superglue on the motor shaft and grub-screw especially on the extruder gear if they are PLA.
