Can I get some helpful suggestions on printing bridges with abs with a j-head IVb

I'm printing abs at 140c with heated bed at 110c on pet covered glass

I've tried fast and slow setting in slic3r but get the same sagging bridges as always

Tried using a fan on th bridges which helps a fair bi but the causes prints to warp horrible

Can you give some examples of settings and set ups please

You need to stretch it more by using lower layer height / filament width relative to the nozzle size.

With a 0.4mm J-head I normally do 0.4mm layers with W/T = 1.5. If I want long bridges I use 0.35mm layers.

Currently running at 0.3 layer height as I'm printing prusa3 parts

What speed would you say use in slic3r?

What is the filament width?

I don't use Slic3r, too many bugs!

Do you mean in the interface, or in the GCode? What sort of bugs?

It doesn't get the basic geometry right. Various versions have had different dimensional errors in the holes and the outlines and the latest ones have extra spikey bits added to the outlines. I follow the bug reports on github and it seems to be getting worse rather than better.

I prefer Skeinforge because the outlines and holes it produces in the gcode appear to be exactly the same as they are in the STL (offset by the half the filament width).

If you have to use Slic3r, use 0.7.2.
That one nails the geometry right.

lmoa this seem to have turned into a slic3r debate

solved my briding problem in slic3r now

completly turned off the fans for ABS

and dropped the bridge flow rate to 0.6 and bridge speed at 10mm/sec

seems to be working a treat now and does not lift at all when running the PET Glass at 110C
