what all programs do I need to convert from an eagle board layout to gcode for drawing/plotting (not milling)... I've installed so many different programs, following the instructions I could find, but as of yet, nothing has produced a gcode version... help!?

... you need Eagle and an outline/G-code-ULP ...

... search here for "gcode" - there are several user-language-programs creating G-code from the PCB's ... hadn't used this since maybe ten years, so not up to date with the actual versions ...

ok, I've run pcb-gcode-3.6.0.4 and gcode_02. neither of which output gcode files? unless they default to a different file extension that need to change? (ok, I changed the .TAP file to .gcode, and opened it in pronterface, and I'm not sure what it's doing, it says it's loading it, but it's been loading it for about 5 minutes now, says it's on line 2 of 10864, and estimated completion time keep jumping between 4 and 20 hours? am I on the right path? printer's not doing anything.... this is just loading the file, I guess?)

been down this road myself, and it's one of those time consuming and painful ones,

theres plenty of pcb to gcode programs out there but nearly all of them lack any documentation to actually produce a gcode file without relying on luck i eventaully got a copy of cambam and did everything from the gerber files since it can load them, it also allows you to pen plot amongst other things

... I'm using Target for generating isolation files for my Isel-CNC-mill with the inbuilt tools - but it can output various other formats too ...
