How to adjust prints to be accurate in size

I made a part with various size cubes so that I could measure each after print to compare to the model. I want to get the printed part to be identical in size and dimensions as my model. The first print was a little over sized. the 40mm wide cube was 41.5mm wide. 30mm was 31.2mm. 20mm was 20.8mm. 10mm was 10.2mm. The height was the same as the model, 13mm.

So I did the math and adjusted best I could reducing the scaling to 96%

This fixed the size of the cubes but reduced everything in height. The total height now being 12mm.

Is there a way to only scale the X and Y axis?

Sounds like you need to calibrate your printer. X, Y (and Z)

You can get your scale to be pretty accurate, but from what I've seen in my prints, size and print shape will cause the dimensions to vary due to the way the material cools. I.E. the settings for a correct 25mm cube are likey to vary from a 100mm cube.
